Here is a topic that I've been meaning to start for quite a while.  The question is simple:  Why are you a fan of such and such character?  The character can be from any Anime or Manga known in the universe.  Obviously, you can be a fan of multiple characters, just limit each post to one.  So without further adoo (sp?), I'll get us started!

Why am I a fan of Ayeka from Tenchi Muyo! / Universe?

You might find this odd, but I originally started out liking her simply becuase she was....not liked becuase of her English dub voice.  Her voice grew on me....then I saw her personality.  She's a very gentile girl, but yet has a mysterious dark side.  She's a lot like how I was when I was younger.  I tended to hide and shield my emotions and feelings from others--so...I can relate to Ayeka in that way.  Other more obvious reasons for being a follower of hers are:

1.  She's a princess!
2.  Did I mention she's a princess?  :nosweat:

Well I'll give this a shot.
Why am I a fan of Serena from SailorMoon?

The 1st time I saw SailorMoon was when I was in the 7th grade. During that time I was watching alot of animes that happen to be on 57 (which was UPN in the past) like DragonBall. When I watched Serena she was as carefree as I am.

I really got into SailorMoon & watched Serena being herself no matter what she does. I also did a couple of pictures of SailorMoon that boosted my art drawings.

Sometimes it's hard to explain why you like a anime character but sometimes you don't really need a reason why you like that character. You just enjoy it for any reason. That's how I feel.

I do understand your final point...sometimes, you just ..... like a character without reason.  But, you did provide something at any rate...you mentioned that Serena is carefree.  That's as good as any reason to like a character.

I haven't posted in a while, so I guess I'll throw in my Two Sense.
My Favorite Character is Himura Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X

I first caught wind of the Ruroken series when I was about 9, not knowing much of anime and was interested in the Samurai Era.  I watched and was amazed by the character himself and began to study more about the series.  After collecting a large portion of the series on Manga aswell as the OVA's, I've learned of his traumatic history and why he chooses to fight and to uphold his own personal code of never to kill.  Also in the television series itself, he's quite amusing, especially in japanese.

1) A character I respect, look up too who has high principles.
2) "Oro?! @.@x"

Why my favorite character is Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess

Like you didnt know i was going to do this one...lol...

i fell in love with belldandy's character in the second episode of AMG...many of her personal pualities reminded me of my other favorite anime character (Sasami if you somehow didnt know  :P ).

~She is cute, sweet, kind, caring, modest, honest (at times this can be both good and bad), a cook, she has a way with animals, and is everything you could ask for in a girl...i especially loved her niave ways...just because it was natural and it made her even more fun to be around watching her do funny things...

There is also that line from the bath in episode 18, but i wont mention that again...  :-[ lol
