Hi, I have been thinking and I wondering crossovers only good in fanfiction or could it be done in anime series.
I know that America cartoons and Superheros comic are not stranger to crossovers of other cartoon series or superheros comic.
Batman and Superman movie. Two seperate superhero comic join in crossover movie in which their world are combine with having to deal with both of thier main villian- Joker and Lex Luthor.
Or is it just a silly idea for anime, because it would not work.

Well, Super Sentai teams *powe rangers internationally* and Mach Rider often do team-ups, so that idea is nothing new to Japan.

TU and DBZ would be funny, but I don't know how it would turn out.

uh... yay?

Warlord Vir

Super Sentai and Mach Rider never heard of them are they animes series?

i dont think most crossovers would work as an anime series...maybe for a 1 or 2 episode special...but not an entire season...too much contratiction in the types of animeand the characters and the animation style and everything else...finding 2 that would match well would be tough...

Reading a fanfiction and see it as anime are two different things.
However, I hate to say it, but he has very good point.
Take for example the Tenchi/AMG crossover you talk about.
In Tenchi Muyo, Gods are powerful being. However, there are three goddness who are more powerful than any of these gods. And happen to be Tenchi is believe to be one of the two most powerful being in Universe. In AMG, goddness work on a machine which control reality and can be give peace and joy on Earth.
What I try to say is AMG, earth is  center of the Universe. Tenchi-earth is just a tiny undeveloped dirt ball of a planet in the universe. Would make it highly inplausible for them to be both plausible thing which could happen at the same time.

Crossovers are a hard one.  Maybe cross Trinity Blood with Trigun.  Vash and Abel are alot alike, and that could lead to some funny situations, and some interesting battles.  I don't know though, it may be a bad idea to try and cross anime for real :-\
Ladies and gentlemen good evening,
you've seen that seeing is believing,
your ears and your eyes will be bleeding,
please check to see if you are still breathing,
hold tight because the show is not over,
if you will please move in closer,
you're about to be blown over,
by the wonders you are about to behold here.

Warlord Vir

As zionia state it very rare to find two anime which are can working within the rule of thier reality.
The two anime, you just stated. Trigun has the earth as unliveable planet and Trinity bloods has it as world after doomday.
However, I think some anime like Happy lessons or something which do not involve a universal or fabric of reality like Slayer(existence and definition of Magic) or Tenchi Muyo. Could easy work with other because it would not have much to contratiction. However, it may prove very hard to do because the style and flow of shows are different.  Happy Lesson is more of a Romantic/Comdey and Tenchi Muyo is more Action/Romantic/Comedy(not so much on it).
Is it possible? Yes.
Is it easy? No.
But some the greatest things are never easy.

Not to get off topic, but Trigun is set far in future on a planet called Gunsmoke.

I think it's difficult to accomplish a crossover with anime and I'm not a huge fan of it, since it's usually done improperly. A good example would be the Kingdom Hearts series.

Warlord Vir

I heard of Kingdom of Hearts or I am mistaken?
And why?

Kingdom Hearts is a video game series.
Well, it makes a good use of cameos, stays to one single company and their own so it won't be difficult to hear their opinions, stays pretty close to their original storyline (a lot like in Mulan in KHII), has a storyline outside of the  crossover, and has well thought out original characters.

the thing with fanfiction crossovers is, all you are doing is taking the characters from 2+ animes and putting them in the same place. usually the regular happenings of the world wont have any effect on a crossover fanfict so the setting becomes less important. Whereas when you are watching an anime cropssover, every detail of setting is used in the action of the plot. what is happening in the world, you can see, and therefore you must draw all atention to it. Confusion will be very apperent among the characters that are now in a completely different world. Even anime that occur in the same place such as Sailor Moon, and Tenchi in Tokyo, would be nearly impossible to be drawn together because of how everything is potrayed and the current of the shows' seperate plots. Could it be done? yes, for an episode or 2 at the most. Could it be done well? slim chance, but still a chance. Will they ever take 2 anime and put them together? i highly doubt it and hope never to see it...the thing i pay a lot of attention to in anime is the artwork...combining 2 styles would be a strain in the membrane if you know what i mean....

That's probably why I hate crossovers.

the kingdom hearts is a game...but you can still see the little tears where they try to mix shows together a little bit...it is a good game, no offence there, but the fact that even in a game you can see the small flaws of it, means if they tried to do it in a real show, it would be horrendous
