The coolest movie ever Transformers the movie heavy metal power ballads a plot far too grown up for the intended age group (is it me or a planet eating planet is damn scary) the main hero dying in the middle and an ending that makes you cry every time (hotrods moment)
i also forgot to include my fave horror,  the thing
and my fave moivie as a kid:

Bruce Campbell vs Army of Darkness is one of my all time favorites.  Seen that one or its predecessor Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn?
