The entire reason this board exists, is mostly to promote small businesses, little gems, and individuals who inspire to be Mangaka, people who create anime based products for us Otaku to consume, have fantasies with, and to just generally spread awareness about these small havens spread across the Internet.

Today, I want to showcase one of the first places I think of when I thought up of this Bizarre, and that is the MegaTokyo website.

Fred Gallagher started off as an ordinary person who studied architecture.  But, his passion for manga and Japanese culture was probably his undoing-- from that life.  He painstakingly drew manga panels-- eight hours each, and slowly began publishing them on his website back in like 2000.  Back then, his friend Rodney Caston, also helped in this endeavor, and the two real life people, were inserted into this fictional world where the two college graduates end up becoming marooned in Japan with no funds to return back to America.  This is every Otaku's best wet dream come true, right?

I watched Fred's progress through the years and his manga illustration skills developed into professional quality.  I love the characters and the world that he's (and Rodney) created, and I appreciated the fine and amusing details in the background of many of the panels.

Another reason for this board is to showcase that if Fred can be an anime nobody and progress to living his dream within the Anime Industry then that means that you and I can as well.  This board aims to help spread awareness of other people striving toward making their dreams come to life, and in my opinion, is desperately needed in this era of Dystopian Dumpster Fires we're living through.

So, if you know of somebody doing something similar, or even a small business in your town that's either making or selling anime products, go ahead and add them to this catalog.  Maybe, someday even, we'll all have some money to spend to help these brave souls out in their career adventures!
