QuoteTTRPG suffers from much the same problem as Anime and video games, an endless supply of people wanting to work their Passion as a job. Which makes them expendable, exploitable low paid drones.
I was reading this online as I was researching if it would be feasible to create my own ttRPG and earn enough to live off of it (at least for the short term).  I mean, that's the dream, right, do something that you're passionate about and then work isn't quite so daunting and boring.  But this quote applies to three of the areas that I've wanted to develop into a career, and all three of them apparently have the same problem, it's actually not with only video games, anime, and role playing games, it's the fact that many of our passions just won't have the capability to earn nearly enough profit to live off of.

So, is there anything we can do to fix this problem of becoming nothing more than an expendable, exploitable drone?  I mean, if you look at just about any job these days, unless you're highly technically skilled in a very selective niche market, we're pretty much all expendable, and many corporations have made it their unwritten policy to exploit the workers in the name of ever-increasing profit margins.

I'm open to a brainstorming session.  What can we do to create more of a possibility to working as our passions dictate, rather than just having a job that barely pays the bills?

I honestly think any of us who are not part of the elite are expendable. You see that everywhere. The elite get pushed to the top of the line for surgeries, better health care, better everything. Because who can speak up against them? If us little blue collar workers try to, the elite has the money to get the BEST lawyers.
