A major update has begun today (actually yesterday):

First off, I moved the site goodies off of thier seperate pages, and more tightly integrated them with the message board.  By doing this, I have created a uniform look for the site, that's easily changeable for everyone.  This also means that you can color Ayeka.net as you'd like, when I begin downloading the many Themes available for the community.  In order to access most of this stuff, you must be logged in to the Message Board.

Secondly, I'm enhancing the Role Playing control panel.  That too has been incorperated in to the message board.  This will make the long awaited SMF RPG mod one step closer to being released!  Many things will be added over the next few weeks and will include a game scheduling peice, and the ability to not only create your characters in a saveable database using the full BESM game system, but you'll also be able to edit your characters as well (by edit, I mean upgrade and advance).

Third, you may have noticed that I've restricted the number of downloads you may download at any time.  I did this for a couple of reasons.  One, I would like to see more people contribute to the community, rather than just taking the loot.  Two, bandwidth is expensive.  Three, did I mention more participants?  To increase your download limit, get promoted!  (start a conversation).

Fourth, I've also changed the ranking system a little bit.  Really the only change is that I have migrated to the Military Officer rank icons for the "earlier" ranks, and the Old Star rank icons are reserved for "later" ranks.  I did this because we are growing, and I wanted to make sure there was pleanty of growth upwards.

That's about all the changes so far.  I'm not completely finished making changes yet, and there will be more enhancements in coming days.

Well done kusha, i can see that the version we temporarily worked on is dust *sniff"

but i was plesently surprised when the site redirected to the forums, i think its a much better way of doing it and as you said, personalisation is available. Though i still think it would be cool to get a mod that allows to people to change (at very least) the colours of the website, and possible layouts (like you can do with the personalised google home page and the windows live thing as well!)

i think that moving to linux has done more harm than good so far. but once all the glitchs have been wiped it should be alright!

I disagree with that statement.....true, it's been a little slow to get all the mods back in place....but that could also have something to do with the fact that I also upgraded the message board software around the same time.  Time is needed to adjust the various mods so they play nicely with the new code set.
