Ah!  The Memories!  The Nostalgia!  Annnnnnnnnnd the BOTS!

So, I've played for two days, with two different characters.  My first one, Kokoro on Levistras, which is a NO BOT server.  The population hovers around 30 to 50 accounts at any time.  The feel of the play from levels 1 through 10 was genuine.  A lot of the same stuff from when I played in 2010 were there like the training dungeon, but there were a lot of new things to my surprise, like there are NPCs now that will teach you ALL the levels of spells that you have the ability to cast (last night I learned levels 1 through 4 of War and Life, just by paying some specific denominations of Trade Notes).  I will mention that you MAY USE DECAL on this server, just DON'T RUN A BOT!  You will be manually kicked, or so that's the impression I have.  Since I have no intention on Botting, this is a moot point for me.

The second character I played on Coldeve.  Although the population was between 900 and 1100, I found that running my character from levels 1 to 10 on this server, was most of the characters appeared to be BOTS.  Now, there could be lots of actual players on this server, however, just the SPAM from the BOTS makes it a fairly uncomfortable experience to play and get lost in the game.  As of now, I'm pretty much just going to be playing on Levistras for now.  In fact, I'm now a member of a Guild on this server, and they have a dedicated Discord server.  Last night was the first time I had the pleasure of using Voice over Discord, and while I'm fairly uncomfortable with being on a microphone, it wasn't too bad.

I also discovered that once you apply the DirectX patch for Windows, that you CAN PLAY FULL SCREEN.  Now this has two effects.  First, this makes my second monitor all but useless, although game immersion is quite impressive in Full Screen mode. Secondly, I think Discord and AC can't play nicely together, as I lost the ability to Voice Chat using Discord while on full screen mode.  There are some work arounds.  I could just play Windowed mode on my second monitor (24"), since it has a lower screen resolution, the AC client doesn't shrink too much, although, I have to twist my body in a fairly uncomfortable position after a while.  Another option is I could reduce the screen resolution on my 27" monitor, but that's  a pain in the but for just a couple of hours of game play.  Another possibility I could do is just get my eye glass prescription updated and get separate glasses, one for reading my computer screen, and one for distance, but that's expensive, and I can barely afford food right now.  Anyway, I'm rambling off subject.

Later tonight, I'm going to see if Tanya wants to play Asheron's Call on her laptop (a 4GB ASUS laptop $200 special), it should be overkill for something like AC.
