I've been looking through this game system and you really could play any kind of character imaginable! But consider that this game is EXTREMELY crunchy. It's best to use the software Hero Designer to help you more quickly generate your characters. I'll be posting an example of Ranma Saotome from Ranma 1/2 shortly (as soon as I find it), that somebody on the HERO Discord showed as an example. I think Ranma took about an hour or two to generate for this experienced individual, however, for somebody like me, I could easily see taking like a week of time to create a character, especially one that is based on a fictional universe (say Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon)).
