Let's answer this!

I used to love extra crunchy... more recently I think I started preferring creamy because it's easier to work with...

...  MOST recently I stopped consuming peanut butter on a frequent basis, but in the rare event I am doing something that calls for peanut butter then just how much "solid nut" I want in it kinda depends on what I'm doing with it, as some things are good with a little crunch but there's still a lot of stuff where smooth is easier to work with.

(Crunchy can be good for PB&J, but I've been known to use peanut butter for such "odd" sandwiches as peanut butter and cheese, and for that... it's better if I can lay the cheese out flat without lumps of peanut getting in the way.)

(...  Also, yes, you heard me...)

("Preferred variety of peanut butter:  'Extra cheesy!'")

That's probably the right way to go.

In addition to what I mentioned, I personally find (obviously YMMV for everything) that peanut butter goes well with other savory foods and sweets... cheese works because it's savory.  Carrots are a "texture focused" food item, so even the carrot strips I was suggesting would probably be more of a lunch-meat accompaniment (and probably great for a garden sandwich)...

...  I've never tried caramelized carrots (and probably wouldn't like them, if they're anything like other forms of cooked carrots) but figure they might be a better accompaniment for peanut butter in much the same way that jam, honey, or chocolate are?

Obv, I wouldn't know ;-p.

(Is spoilering still necessary?  I'm assuming it's not.  I can edit if I'm in the wrong but otherwise I'm stepping out of the spoiler so that it's still useful for other purposes ;-p.)

Well, I'm not sure.  Carrots have a sweetness to them, so if they are prepared correctly, they could turn in to a jelly, jam, or preserve.

Right, but again, those aren't really raw carrots.

You gotta do something to bring the sweetness out, or they don't really fill that roll well with a PB&? ;-p.

I never said that carrots would be all that sweet, just that they have a sweetness to them.  Must add honey... probably. :nosweat:

I never said you said that carrots would be all that sweet, just that you had to do something to bring their sweetness out.  Must add molasses... probably.  :nosweat:

Yeah, but have you ever tried to get molasses out of the jar in January?  It just doesn't happen! LOL :))

Creamy though I tend to eat almond butter more than peanut butter.

I've never tried almond butter.  I'm thinking it's probably more expensive, that's probably why I haven't seen it.

We get it from Costco in a big 27 oz. jar. Now how do they get that number? lol I have made my own before, same with peanut butter in a food processor. It's quite good but it takes awhile & the cleanup can be a pain.

Yeah, 27 oz does sound like an odd number.  Maybe it's just a temporary step toward 25, so they can charge more it then.  You know better quality or some other BS to do with strinkflation...

I can imagine that it creates a big mess.
