Every monring, I wake up a zombie to the rest of the world, and I won't respond to the simpliest of requests....untill I've had my morning caffine! Typically, this can be any one of the following, and usually changes with the seasons:
- Coke
- Coffee, with cream and LOTS of sugar
- Tea
- anything Chocolate!
So what get's you up and going? Curious minds want to know. :)
Primarily White Chocolate Moca from Xbucks!
Oh man! You *had* to go there! I used to live off of that stuff! :nosweat:
Start with a shower, and that works, till I get to work & re-zombify. Then I try Tea (caffeinated) and vitamin B. I love the vitamin B drink XS. lol
I am fine after a hot shower, but I cannot get enough soda.(Coke Cola, Spirte).
Yeah, but Sprite doesn't have any caffine in it. :omg:
They have a drink called Monster...those really help me get going when I need a boost!
I use 'em, but I hate the energy boosts from sugar. The come-downs are painful for me. The B helps me more.
I hear you have to careful not to be overcaffined or else.
Or else what?
OVER caffinated?
Anyone remember Jolt Cola?
ROFL...when it first came out I literally drank a six-pack and two 2-litre bottles in one day...let me tell you...wired doesn't begin to describe me that week!
Yeah, my friend once drank a 6 pack of 20 oz bottles in one sitting. Let's just say that he was visabily shaking for three hours, and easily pulled an "all nighter"! :))
Anybody remember Nitro? I never had the chance to try the stuff, but supposidly, it was a Moutian Dew tasting Jolt.
Yeah, I even remember Jolt's motto: "Twice the caffine, half the taste"! :))
Lights. BRIGHT lights.

Wired. Scary if you talking about hyper and crazy.
I was around 12 when I did that. My mother definitely used it to her advantage...was the best week she ever had...she didn't have to do any house cleaning!

Sound like my granny getting my mother angry when my mother was younger.
My mother used to clean the house as way to get back at my granny.(pity techinque).
I am a soda feind! I would just slug bottles down a day I could not get enough...then school started and there are no soda machines in high school... #sob# :'(
If I do not to regulate the supply of soda, then I would drink easily drink a 1-liter bottle in one sitting.
sweet... soda is the ultimate beverage!!!!!! :joyful:
and ultimate unhealth beverage.
true... true
I'm a rather slow soda drinker. Currently, I can make a one liter last all day (9+ hours). There was once a time when I could make a 12 oz can last all day.
No, by far, the best beverage is a nice hearty, full flavored beer! AmberBock is my current favorite, then there's Killians, and Sam Adams is up there as well, although I don't remember which specific brew it was -- I just know I liked it!!
There was one time, I went to Hooters for lunch with a co-worker, and we had a couple pitchers of AmberBock...talk about a quick and easy buzz. I think I fell asleep in the bathroom for like two hours that day sobering up! :nosweat:
Hopefully in your own bathroom.
No this was at work! :omg:
HAHAHAHA
Remember Surge? Lol It tasted kinda like Flat Mt Dew.
Quote from: Warlord Vir on 23-Oct-2006 (Mon) @ 23:35:20and ultimate unhealth beverage.
Agree. That's why I quit drinking it.
Now what do you drink instead of soda?
Water, milk, and lemonade. Just anything else except tea. I don't like tea.
In my whole life I have had less than a can of soda total. Pretty wild huh? :hehe:
Do you drink alot of milk?
I heard a story about how a guy got so much dairy that the doctor were cutting his femur bone and had to use a hacksaw or something I forgot.

Hmmm, I would expand your choices a bit. There is a
whole lot more variety than just plain old black tea. There are a couple of teas that I really enjoy. (If Dreamseeker is reading this, she could probably correct me on the names). There is Darjinzg tea (I know I crippled that) that is very flavorful. I don't even need to add sugar to it! There is also this awesome Lavendar tea. Quite relaxing and flavorful.

Oh, I think the only tea I've tried that was okay to me was this cinnamon tea. Believe, I speak about a wide variety.
I don't think I tried the Darjinzg tea.
I am a fan of earl of grey tea.
Earl Grey tea rocks!
Favorite Soda?
My is Sprite and Cola Coke.
Coke then Moutain Dew when I need a caffine buzz!
Moutian Dew is not my cup of tea. :flat:
Wow...as far as beer (or any alcoholic beverage for that matter) just not my drink...I may have a total of a six -pack in a given year. For Soda, pepsi is my cola of choice, then the Monster Drinks for that extra caffine boost.
I do love my share of tea though...I agree that earl-grey is great...especially with a bit of cream and sugar!
Any coffee fan?
Only with loads of cream and a little sugar.
Black
No cream or sugar.
QuoteI like my coffee the same way I like my women....
Sweet and creamy!
I have no idea who said it, but that's how I like my coffee.

Sure... Darjeeling. ;) The Lavender you're talking about is an Earl Grey mix that has Ceylon, Darjeeling, and Formosa Oolong, with Lavender & Bergamot. I also found a very flavorful tea made by Twinings: There Irish Breakfast Tea. I love it! It's black tea. I really, really love Peppermint tea, but it's caffeine free. It does help with colds & mild headaches, though.
Alcohol... LOL That's a good one for another thread. I'm all for liquor. Not much on beer, though. Jose Cuervo, Hot Damn 100, Baja Rosa, etc. I do shots, mostly. I like mixed drinks, too.

Funny
I will have to second Senkusha's sentiments on coffee...black!?!?!...yeck!
I was told that only wimp and child dream coffe with cream and sugar. Really men drink thier coffee black.
I guess that could depend on whether that "real man" also wants to be kissed by a "real woman" who doesn't like the flavor of black coffee or the stains that it can leave. ;) lol
Also ... Who decides what being a real man is? I know REAL men who like tea.
They never say a real cannot drink tea, but you cannot have sugar and cream in your coffee and take it black.
No. But you can make it black and make it different strengths, too. So, even if you like it black, someone else could make it stronger and maybe you'd need a packet of sugar in it. Personally, I looove the smell of brewing coffee, but I can't stand the aftertaste.
Smell of Fresh Coffee is the best.
BAH...I smell an overdose of testosterone here! Real men only drink it black! please...a real man does not need to "prove" anything...especially in the type of drinks he likes!
There ya go!
It a old family saying.
Do not blame me.
then who else are we to blame?
Idea that man can take thier coffee black and only wimp need sugar and cream.
No, it is the idea that (a bad one) that someone has no taste buds is why they like it black... :o
So coffee is nothing without sugar and cream is what your saying?
Pretty much! though sugar is debatable...sometimes i do drink it with just cream, but not very often.
So coffee is just a flavor to your drink?
EXACTLY!
Overall caffeine has little effect on me anymore (refer to jolt cola incident of '86)
I like to think of coffee as a drink.
Coffee is a great flavor for me...but just not a drink!
ROFL
You are funny one.
Coffee is a drink.
well, sure...if it has cream and sugar in it!
ROFL
I hope you do not add cream and sugar to every kind of drink you drink.
only coffe...and hot earl grey tea
Tea too.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Earl Gray only...regular tea, lipton, louisianne...etc...just plain, no sugar, no cream, just ice
Still
HAHAHAHAHAHA
You find it funny that I am much more refined that you?
ROFL
that-than?
:D
Too funny!
Any other favorite Drinks?
(Changing the Subject)
XS - Vitamin B drink with Awesome flavors. (I think I've posted that before, but I'm craving it.)
Hot Coco - (I prefer no marshmallows, but whipped cream is optional.)
Water - Never thought this would actually make my list. LOL
It is great to have Hot Choclate this time of the year.
now see, hot chocolate is my version of coffee! (had to bring that up!)
other favorites would be most colas (pepsi preferably), ice tea, monster energy drink
*raises hands and begins jumping up and down while spinning around, and begins chanting*
YAY!! I'm a wimp! YAY I'm a wimp!
Sorry, I just had to... :-[
I LOVE Earl Grey tea, it's the best...with just a touch of sugar to bring out the full flavor.
Hot Chocolate? I devour that stuff too, but I truly fancy the deep, rich, full bodied hot cocoas -- made with (Whole) Milk!
That Aztec or Mayan one that I found isn't too bad. Way too expensive, though. It's a spiced Cocoa. I love the Land O Lakes Mint Cocoa.
I'll have to get the name tonight, but it's a brand in the red box at Save-a-lot, that is *really* rich and chocolatey!
I usually get one from a vending machine.
Which I like.
One place to NEVER get hot chocolate from...Starbucks!
They may make one hell of a cup of coffee, but as good as their coffee is, their hot chocolate is just as bad!
Thanks for the warning.
gladly...but you would probably go for the black coffee anyway!
ROFL
I really wish there was a Tea Shoppe around here. I heard about them on NPR the other day, and they sound awesome!
tea shoppe? what, is that the starbucks for tea?
Usaully when I need to be up all night working on something I drink a Rock Star. It helps alot.
LOL
Rockstars don't have enough caffeine for me...

Coffee making you sleepy, now that is the first i have heard of that!
Kind of the same thing happen to me sometimes.
and you call me weird for drinking cream and sugar in my coffee...ROFL
Quote from: TechnoDragon on 18-Nov-2006 (Sat) @ 01:37:50tea shoppe? what, is that the starbucks for tea?
Well, that's not the real name, I know there are a couple in Boston. I'll have to see if I can find a real place. But yes, essentially, it's a Starbucks for Tea drinkers! :joyful:
Starbuck for Tea!?!
I thought Starbuck was coffee franchise or something?
Geeze, now I have seen everything...
So you seen the paris, then?
ROFL
Paris the city? No, Paris as the actress/rich babe? Yes, Paris as anything else? no.
You say you saw everything.
You should read a little slower warlord vir, lol, he was joking!!!
Ahh, heck...Warlord Vir doesn't know the meaning of slow!
@ Senkusha Well I found out they do have a tea shoppe here in AZ...it is a little shop in the old town part of glendale. Simply called Tea & Biscuits
HAHAHAHA
Very funny.
I think you need to learn when people are joking.
I was joking around.
ROFL
Now who can't take a joke?
ROFL
Now I simply do not know who anymore now.
;D
Are we all a bit confused now?
I think we have gone off track.
probably from too much caffeine!
;D
:))
Thought you'd like that!
;D
I think I should never have only coffee for a lunch or breakfast.
True, but it helps the caffeine get into your system faster!
I already have enough energy most of the time.
glad someone does!
I wouldn't know what to do with out caffine.
<-- is a tea fiend >:D
TEA TEA TEA TEA TEA and did i mention TEA!!!!
as long as it isnt black tea...lol...black teas im picky about because i can taste the burnt leaves sometimes and it is nasty...so i stick to green, red, white, and chai teas...i even make my own fresh mixes for certain things.
Yes, I do love tea as well!
But in my case it IS black tea I like most!
I like hot tea as long as I have some cool to drink as the hot tea cool down for me to drink it without burning my tongue.
but you drink hot coffee?
after it cool down to drink
So, then you are basically a frapaccino type person then?
???
No I only like normal coffee. Remember.

Scary, but it understandable.
I wonder if that only thing it would do.
i figure if it kills the enamel, it has to kill the bacteria and plaque as well ;)
Like being died mean you never have to pay taxes agian.
well, I haven't been on here in a while.. While I was away I kinda got hooked on caffiene. It helps me stay awake.
I like SoBe Adrenaline Rush, Bawls, and Rockstar. :D
Its bad though because its starting to not effect me as much. lol
Yes, it sound like you are reach the desensitive stage of the addiction. Where the effect lessen over usage.
Pretty much your body is becoming more tolerance to it.
But that what I think, but not a doctor.
I don't think im actaully addicted, if I was wouldn't i feel some kind of negative effects if i didn't have any caffeine?
True. Very true.
So I take it you are said you are not dependent on it.
looks like you are in the clear...dont become addicted to the stuff tho...otherwise you will have headaches when you wake up for the rest of your life...lol
I doubt that true.
actually that is not too far from the truth, they have done studies that show part of the withdrawal symptoms from caffeine are headaches
for the rest of your life is the part I doubt.
Caffine is bad. I am a scientist (and student). On the other hand I gotta have a bottle of Mountain Dew before class (those professors are boring as hell) every morning so I cannot say much more about it.
Scienist of What?
Just an amateur. Literally a scientist is someone that does science. I guess you could call me a biochemist for the moment, in august I will be a microbiologist.
So are you do have in authority on addictions?
Addiction is all in the mind so that falls under the range of a nuerologist (I misspelled it I think). My limited expertise is only under a chemical reaction, not addiction. Though they found the section of the brain that causes addiction is the insula region. Recently several patients with brain damage were studied because damage to the insula region of their brain cause their addictions to vanish.
Well. :nosweat:
I hope they are not jump to conclusions and do some research before saying anything like that as a supported idea.
It will be ages before that pans out since there is not a lot we understand about the brain itself.
I heard about that study...the patient in question was a smoker, after his accident that caused damage to that region of the brain he no longer wanted to smoke...immediately after his recovery. And sorry warlord, didn't realize that was the part of the post you were referring to. You are right physicall withdrawl would not last a lifetime, but depending on the person and the severity (to the individual) they could potentially cause themselves to have symptoms that long...
It ok. I hope that it was not conciende that it happen and they can get alot of information from the research.
Never know with science, all great discoveries of the modern era have been accidents.
And what is science fact is tomorrow's fiction.
Ex. Cocanies was a main part of Coca Cola. Because they believe Cocanies was good for you. We now know that to be not true.
True but in some cases manufacturers don't care if something is bad as long a you keep on buying.
Until the Food and Drug Act, but company may can to make a quick profit here and there without caring of consumer sometimes.
To quote Denis Leary, "It's a drug, I'm Addicted, OKAY!" Once you start with caffeine, it is so prevalent in modern food and drink, that even when you are trying to quit the addiction you are still feeding it.
As a child we used to have an electric fence, and I would occasionally hold on to it until a pulse of electricity came through. It would give me a little shock and jolt, but it was one hell of a rush. And it hurt a little afterwards, well My arm was sore. Yet that never stopped me from doing it because of the little rush.
This is caffeine, BRING ON THE JOLT!
