Title: Any D&D RPGs
Post by: Warlord Vir on 17-Apr-2007 (Tue) @ 00:18:34
I have a hard time finding a good D&D video game for the PC or any other gaming system.
And do not say D&D online. I do not care what they say it is not D&D. It may erbberon, but not D&D.
I can remember a good D&D or at least a good D&D-like game on a Mac, but I forget the name.
I think of trying to gaining the name, but it require me put the Mac together and turn it on and finding it.
However, if you know any link to a good D&D game then please leave the link for me and anyone else.
Thank you.

Does it matter how old of a computer game?  Because if it doesn't you can usually find the OLD computer games, for like DOS and older windows (although not sure if they will work for a MAC), online by doing a search, that's how I found Castle of the Winds 1 and 2, and usually if they are VERY old, they are completely free, basically because they are Abandonware games, most of the time the copyrights have ran out.  At least ALL the ones that I got were, and I STILL play them LOL.  Here are a few sites that I COMPLETELY trust, as they will tell you if the game is available for free or if you need to pay and you can pick your genre:

Abandonia Reloaded (http://www.reloaded.org/index.php)
Abandonia - Home of Abandonware DOS Games (http://www.abandonia.com/index2.php)
Classic Gaming Network - Abandonware Lives (http://www.classic-gaming.net/)

I will recommend that you should read their terms of course  ;)   And hopefully I'm not stepping out of line by posting those sites, if so, then please delete them  ;)

Old games are the best. I still have and old IBM PS/2 286 @ 10mhz that I pull out from time to time to kick it with the older games. For games the raging 10mhz cant handle I have a Cyrix 100 based system to do the rest.   ;D ;D LASTLY a really good old site I frequented in my younger days.......dosgames.com (http://www.dosgames.com/)

Oh yes that site is really good too  :D   I play the older games on my computer now, some of them I had to download a special program to play them, but for the most part they work.  And what I like about some of the older games, they don't take up much space, funny how that is...Castle of the Winds is all of about 80kb LOL, and runs like a charm on WinME, although I don't know if it will run on WinXP or not, but they have a program that they can.

O okay good,  :D   I know what it's like to have a game consume much of your time, as I'm playing Final Fantasy Tactics for Gameboy Advance, and LOVING IT!!  But I'm sure you'll find some great old games on those sites when you get time to check them out  :D
