I know problems exist that span across many Roleplaying systems. I'd like to try to solve at least one of them. So let's begin by identifying some of the problems that we as players and game masters have to deal with. I want to know the kinds of problems you have using your preferred method of playing. So I want to know in person problems, discord, play by post, roll20, etc..
Since I have experience mostly with play by post, here's some problems I can think of:
1. Resource deployment. There's no easy way to keep a map, dice pool, and concurrent (non-character) chat going.
2. Combat can be painfully slow.
3. Initiative is pretty much pointless. Or if it's enforced, it can kill a game whileeeveryone waits for the player who is up.
4. No outstanding method of identifying active characters if a player runs multiple characters.
