This post refers to the very ancient site, Ayeka's Bliss, and this post was a reposting from that old site from the Internet Archive. I'm sorry for the confusion. At the time that I dug up all these old posts, I was feeling nostalgic for the old Internet Days, and thought it would be a good way to work through those feelings. I have come to realize that this was probably not the best strategy to use, and I ultimately ended up wasting my time.
Anyway, if you're interested in a reboot of the old Harmony of Chaos game, let's bring this over to the new site and do it right, okay?

Mihoshi's Galactic Evidence Report / Magical Lyrical Radiant Strike...

I finally got the new site set up, and some basic introduction stuff defined, however, there is so much more that needs to be done! I'm in the process of creating the Guidebook (an all-comprehensive document detailing everything a new player needs to know about the game world), which appears to be a common and preferred object of desire on my role playing forums.
This is an experiment, as I've never developed a forum solely for the purposes of role playing, and it's rather exciting! Based on my previous experience at running forums, I didn't want to become boxed in with only Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha-- which this role play is set in, I decided to zoom out a bit, and focus the new forum environment on Magical Girls. I've set up the new forum to contain multiple magical girl Realms, each (category) is a separate role playing game. This configuration allows for multiple game boards to be used, and more layout options to be considered. But, if you're interested in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and have always dreamed of creating your own original character set within this magic-technologically fused world, then I invite you to check out it's new home.
One other thing that I'll be doing is migrating from SMF over to XenForo over on the new forum. I want to try out the new shiny, all the features, and if it sparks new engagement or not. Just the auto-expanding posting box is really nice feature, especially for long form content, like role playing.
With the creation of a new subdomain, and exploring the idea of transforming all my role playing games into individual subdomains, I'll be cleaning up the layout of this site. No, this forum will not be going way, but it will be reorganized. Most of the anime boards will probably stay, however, I'll probably sharpen the focus to Shoujo anime, since there seems to be a lot of other sites doing the Shonen area already. The role playing game boards, where discussion about different games is conducted, that will probably be migrated into the Articles System (using Tiny Portal). These articles will focus on the strengths and weaknesses of the system they describe. I was hoping that people were interested in discussion about their beloved game systems, and whatnot, but after a few years of running this site with like zero interaction there, it's pretty clear that most people don't care.
Will this rearrangement kill this place? Honestly, who knows, but the site's been pretty dead for a while now, and I need to do something to try to breathe some life back into it. Maybe you've got some ideas? If so, let me know.

Kagome's General Gossip and Discussion / Thinking about migrating forum...

Lately, I've been reviewing various tactics for attracting new members, and one thing I keep running into is using outdated software makes people less likely to become involved with your site. I've noticed a number of web forums that I visit use XenForo as their forum software of choice. I like it as well. It's clean, modern, and customizable. But, it's also expensive!
$195 for the base license. Plus the other miscellaneous additional fees for the expansions. Literally nothing is free with that software, but it must be outstanding, because so many people are using it. The problem I have is that I can't justify spending money on something that doesn't have a foreseeable payoff. In this case, meaning if I take the plunge and buy XenForo, I'm out at least $250 for the year. If I only get one active member, I'll consider it worth it, however, if nothing changes, and I'm still basically shouting in to the Void. Although, I'll have a pretty forum to look at. I haven't even included the cost of the skins that would go into making the site unique!
Beyond just having a fresh new interface, we would gain one major advantage over the current SMF software, and that is multiple account access. Or should I say sub-accounts. This would be a wonderful add-on because we are a role playing website, and this way, people could post more in-character. But, that add on is like $35 per year. I suppose I could try to make my own version of that with what I've got, but if I don't have any other active members, should I even bother?

Negima! Magister Negi Magi / Languages and Communication

The students and staff of Mahora are presumably speaking in Japanese. So now, all of a sudden an automatic subconscious language translation happens so everybody can understand everybody?
I'm sure this happens in other anime all the time, and it's something nobody really considers, after all, this is totally fiction, and writers are master creators of their own worlds. It's just easier if everybody in a scene can communicate without too much effort. I know that I struggled with this when I wrote the fan-fiction, Answering Fate. But maybe I just was overthinking it? (Speaking of... I really should try to republish that fiction online soon.)

Last post by Senkusha - 11-May-2025 (Sun) @ 17:26:10Okay, I think I understand what's going on here. This is a joke. Makie is a very energetic and positive person. The first time Ayaka belittles Makie for being "negative", Makie gets crushed, for failing to be "me". Here's an entry from a wiki:

The Neverending Story [board] (1D) / Creating Characters

I know there are books available that can assist with creating full-personality characters, but I've also thought, why not use a role playing game as a base. That would give some interesting possibilities, especially for something within a science fiction or fantasy realm. Are there any other options available? What do you use?

FUDGE / Descriptive Role Playing?
Last post by Senkusha - 08-May-2025 (Thu) @ 17:42:20I'm fairly new to FUDGE, as somebody who's come from a more defined role playing background (meaning, using numerical statistics), have you found that playing with the descriptor words of Superb, Great, Good, Fair, Mediocre, Poor, Terrible to be easier to play or more difficult? Also, do you stick with these words or do you create your own list of adjectives?
